Trip to Aogashima

Hello again dudes 🙂

Hahhaha…. as usual, I`ve been absent from my blog for quite some time 😦 Well.. it can`t be helped. Got a mouth to feed 😀 Hehehhe… and due to my lazyness, of course.

Anyway, last month, my friend Habib and me were invited to attend Kokyusai Koryukai in Aogashima, starting from 31 January 2008- 2 February 2008. Kokyusai Koryukai is a Japanese term for an International Culture Exhange program. In this program, we were requested to introduce our country (culture, food, flora and fauna, etc).

Aogashima

Aogashima is a small island which is part of the Izu islands of Tokyo area, Japan. It is approximately 385,4 km south of mainland Tokyo. The island is considered to be the least populous municipality in the whole of Japan. As of October 2007, the population is only 211 people over an area of 5.98 km^(2). Since the population is really small, there is only one school that is available for elementary and the junior high school students.

The island itself is like a fortress. It is surrounded by high cliff of approximately 100-300 meter in height. Therefore, this island has no beach. Based on the people who live over there, the island is actually a peak of an active volcano. The last volcano erruption (tenmei erruption) was occurred more than 200 years ago (1781-1785) which took more than half of the population at that time.

Well.. this one was supposed to be uploaded before the new year. But, due to many reasons, especially due to my laziness, I can only make this post now 😦

Well… approximately less than two months ago, one of my best friend was here in Japan. Well… he was supposed to visit his sister and also having a reunion with his family, but I know more than well what he was really up to in Tokyo :p hehehehhe…. On one occasion, I believe it was on November 25, 2007; we met up in Harajuku station. Well… we haven`t met for quite sometimes afterall…. So we thought it will be a good idea to met up and catch up with eachother. In the end, there were three of us, me, Goys, and Q. After talking for a while, we went to one of the famous temple in Tokyo, MEIJI JINGU….. 😀

Finally, this is the 30th 😀 I managed to reach my target before the end of this year :p hehehhee….

Three days ago, I and my Indonesian friends in Tokyo were having a ski and snowboarding trip to Hakuba Sanosaka. The place was really close to Hakuba Goryu, the last ski place which I went to with my labmates. However, this time, we got 40 people in Total 😀 Amazing isn`t it? 🙂 Most of them are first timer for ski or snowboarding. I went along since I was thinking of trying snowboarding. I want to know which one is easier for me. In addition, going with other Indonesia fellows will be an exciting trip too… since at least it will be much easier to communicate :p hehehhehe….

Well… I`ve put it up this story for quite sometimes already. So, I guess its time for me to get this one online before the new year 🙂 (my target this year is to get at least 30 posts before the new year and this one will be the 29th 😀 yay… )

So.. basically, me and my friends (Hibinosan, Namatamesan, Uchidasan, and Yoshikawasan) from Yoshino lab were going to a place in Nagano prefecture, Hakuba Goryu. It was done with a sole purpose, skiing 😀 heheheh… Since we don`t have winter in Indonesia, I was asking my friends to take me there and teach me how to ski. Afterall, this will be my first time to see the snow and also to know what it feels like to ski 😀 (well, I did go to snow city in Singapore and Malaysia, but those two can`t be taken as snow, right?)

Around one week before we went out for Hakuba Goryu, Hibinosan and See took me to Jimbocho to buy a few additional equipments for skiing. I guess the most importan thing is the leg and butt protector. Sad to be said, they were completely confident that I am going to fall down, a lot!!! Sighh… and even more sad, I did feel the same way too :p hehhehe…. I wasn`t very confident that I am going to pull this off unscratched. So, I kept in mind to bear it like a man. Afterall, I have to be able to ski since I need that to teach someone next year 😀

I finally got my revenge

Remember this story about my stupidity…. 😀 Well.. finally, after waiting for two years…. I got my second chance of using Singapore Airlines when I return to my country a few days ago 😛 heheheh…. But this time… I didn’t make the same mistake. Remember this old saying “Even the donkey doesn’t fall into the same hole twice… it falls into the next hole 😛 “. So thats why, this time… I have to make sure that I went to the airport fully prepared. Its kill or be killed 😈 . Before I went to the airport, I have checked every facilities that they offered from the internet 🙂

Dream of a lifetime (Day 1)

	Every man has dreams. Something precious… Something that we long for… Something that we want to get or to do.. no matter what the cost is. I believe that we all have this in ourself. No matter how big or small that dream is… we still have it. The choice is all yours, whether you want to go for it… or to let it go. But… when you decide to go for it… fight for it… chase it till the end… succeed.. or die trying!! For some people, they dream of wealth, power, world peace, land, happiness, health, home, or even woman 😈 …. Sometimes, they dream something unique or different in a way (i.e. climbing Mt. Everest). How about your dream?? 🙂 As for me… I have a lot of dreams. Thanks to my family and friends,… some of them have already been done. But the others are still left to be accomplished. And now… I am getting close to the time where I have to complete one of my dreams which has been running trough my head for the past 8 years. This one is not really something big scale like saving the world or become a president 😀 … it just something that I want to do, as someone who loves his country. Someone who wants to know what his country has, and enjoy it to the fullest 😀 The dream… is… 7 days road trip of Java Island 🙂

Never ever FLY with Singapore Airlines Unprepared!!!

This time… I want to share an old story of mine. It was happen two years ago (2005) but even now… it still becomes one of my worst experiences ever… 😥 The reason why I share this story is to remind you to be always prepared and know what you are doing when you are flying, specifically using Singapore Airlines … otherwise… you will end up like me 😦 Being alone in a foreign country and starving to death for two days 😈
