Trip to Aogashima

Hello again dudes 🙂

Hahhaha…. as usual, I`ve been absent from my blog for quite some time 😦 Well.. it can`t be helped. Got a mouth to feed 😀 Hehehhe… and due to my lazyness, of course.

Anyway, last month, my friend Habib and me were invited to attend Kokyusai Koryukai in Aogashima, starting from 31 January 2008- 2 February 2008. Kokyusai Koryukai is a Japanese term for an International Culture Exhange program. In this program, we were requested to introduce our country (culture, food, flora and fauna, etc).

Who said that winter is cold???

Well… we all know that winter is cold. As a matter of fact, it is common knowlegde to wear thick and warm clothes during winter. As for me, I always wear at least three layer of clothes and top it up with a coat. However, my logic was utterly destroyed during our ski trip to Hakuba Sanosaka last weekend. It was due to a certain man, who managed to shatter my image of cold and freezing winter.

Here we go again… this time it`s snowboarding :D

Hi dudes…..

Finally, this is the 30th 😀 I managed to reach my target before the end of this year :p hehehhee….

Three days ago, I and my Indonesian friends in Tokyo were having a ski and snowboarding trip to Hakuba Sanosaka. The place was really close to Hakuba Goryu, the last ski place which I went to with my labmates. However, this time, we got 40 people in Total 😀 Amazing isn`t it? 🙂 Most of them are first timer for ski or snowboarding. I went along since I was thinking of trying snowboarding. I want to know which one is easier for me. In addition, going with other Indonesia fellows will be an exciting trip too… since at least it will be much easier to communicate :p hehehhehe….

Learning ski from the expert :)

Hi dudes 🙂

Well… I`ve put it up this story for quite sometimes already. So, I guess its time for me to get this one online before the new year 🙂 (my target this year is to get at least 30 posts before the new year and this one will be the 29th 😀 yay… )

So.. basically, me and my friends (Hibinosan, Namatamesan, Uchidasan, and Yoshikawasan) from Yoshino lab were going to a place in Nagano prefecture, Hakuba Goryu. It was done with a sole purpose, skiing 😀 heheheh… Since we don`t have winter in Indonesia, I was asking my friends to take me there and teach me how to ski. Afterall, this will be my first time to see the snow and also to know what it feels like to ski 😀 (well, I did go to snow city in Singapore and Malaysia, but those two can`t be taken as snow, right?)

Around one week before we went out for Hakuba Goryu, Hibinosan and See took me to Jimbocho to buy a few additional equipments for skiing. I guess the most importan thing is the leg and butt protector. Sad to be said, they were completely confident that I am going to fall down, a lot!!! Sighh… and even more sad, I did feel the same way too :p hehhehe…. I wasn`t very confident that I am going to pull this off unscratched. So, I kept in mind to bear it like a man. Afterall, I have to be able to ski since I need that to teach someone next year 😀

`Merah Putih` in the heart of Tokyo

Hallo again… 😀

Last week, Tokodai, the university in which I do my study now, held a festival for two days. Starting from saturday and continued to sunday. It seems that this is one of the annual activity in Tokodai campus. Unfortunately, I didn`t know about this until one of my Indonesian friend told me about it. Well… although the whole campus was actually filled with the announcement of this fest, I have no clue at all since they all written in Japanese Kanji 😦 Too bad that I`m still bad at reading kanji, not to mention understanding the meaning 😥 Anyway, this is another matter which I have to conquer in order to survive in Tokyo 😀 wish me luck, k? 🙂

So… the festival, which is called koudaisai (correct me if I`m wrong), has some kind of similarity with what we have in my campus in Indonesia. All the campus clubs and communities were joining and opened their stands. However, they were all opening either food, merchandise or games stand. Unlike what we have in Indonesia, where we advertise our clubs or communities for recruitment of new members, they only focused on gaining profit for their clubs by selling food, merchandise, or games. It seemed to me that they have another way of getting new members, other than using this opportunity. notes: I`m still trying to find out how they actually recruit new members since maybe… just maybe… we can apply the method in Indonesia 😀

So… as part of the tokodai communities, Indonesian students were also joining the fest, including me of course 🙂 The students, led by Budi, opened up an Indonesian food stand. And since the festival also have a performance contest, not to miss the chance, our students decided to take part on it. They came up with Saman Dance for the performance 🙂 Way to go guys… and gals…. 😀

My first Game, Hit, Walk, and Strike Out after 3 years

Hi again dudes 🙂

A few weeks ago, just a few days after my arrival in Tokyo, I met this gentleman, Sennari-san. It was happening when I was having a problem with the TV remote control and the phone line in my room. That was the time when I decided to call the front desk, asking for help. So… Sennari-san came up and helped me with the remote and phone. While he was checking on the problematic gadgets, I was checking on him…. err…. no.. no.. wrong sentence!! :p hehehe… I was curious with his left hand since his pinky was wrapped up with bandages.

Well… as a kind and considerate human being… 😀 I asked him what happen to his hand. To my surprise, he told me that his finger was injured when he was playing baseball. Ehhh…. what a coincidence!! I was spending my days finding a person who plays baseball and here he was, standing in front of me. What a surprise!! I said 😀 After that we talked about his team and I asked him whether I can play in his team or not. And then… he gave me another surprised. He was actually looking for a player, especially players from European and American country. It seems to me that he is building an international team 😀 Way to go Senna-san!!!
